Love The Oceans is a non-profit marine conservation organisation in Mozambique. They use research, education and diving to drive action towards a more sustainable future. They offer a cutting edge volunteer program that gives individuals the chance to work alongside marine biologists and the local community, helping with conservation and research. Volunteers gain experience through fisheries and whale research, teaching and coral reef survey programs over the space of 2 -5 weeks.
Please note that places on the programme are not free of charge and volunteers are required to pay £800 for a 2 week program and £1,750 for a 5 week program. This fee covers volunteers’ food, diving, accommodation, training, kit rental, airport transfers, cultural tour & research equipment. Swansea University will not be liable for any costs in relation to these programmes.
If you are interested in paying the above fees to volunteer with Love the Oceans (or other organisations such as EarthWatch, Fontier etc) and wish to use these opportunities to collect data for final year (level 3) project dissertation, we recommend that you discuss possible projects with your tutor / potential project supervisor to ensure that the data gathered will be sufficient in scope, quality and quantity for this purpose.
Please note: The purpose of this event is to highlight potential volunteering opportunities. Please be aware that Love the Ocans is athird party provider which is not formally approved or endorsed by Swansea University.
