Event Overview:  The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx) is the Regulatory body for Chartered Legal Executives and operates alongside the Solicitors Regulation Authority and Bar Standards Board.  Chartered Legal Executives are fully qualified lawyers doing a similar job to their solicitor colleagues.  Chartered Legal Executives can become partners of law firms, run their own practices, employing other lawyers, can apply for judicial positions and Advocates have the same rights of audience as solicitors.

This presentation will explain how you can become a Chartered Legal Executive as an alternative to solicitor training.  Why should you consider this fantastic alternative to becoming a lawyer?  There are two very good reasons:  The cost of training is about a quarter of the solicitor pathway and you do not need a training contract to qualify.

Advance CPD is the only training college in England & Wales to run a 12 week programme of study, commencing next September, taking you right up to your examinations in January 2014.  The course is run at Bangor University.  They are the CILEx No.1 college for results this Summer with 91% of their students being successful in their examinations.

If nothing else, you need to explore ALL of your options before deciding on your next-step career pathway.

Facilitators:

  • Adrian Mason, Principal, Advance CPD
  • Lynne Squires, CILEx Regional Liaison Officer
